Camden man accused in Rehoboth beer bottle assault

Police in Rehoboth Beach say they have arrested a Camden man, after he assaulted someone with a beer bottle.
On Saturday, around 10:50 PM, Officers with the Rehoboth Beach Police Department says they reported to Lula Brazil on Rehoboth Avenue, for reports of a fight. Once on scene, Officers say they learned that 32-year-old Gavin Ellis, had been kick out of the establishment, and then returned. Police say, once he returned, he started a fight with someone, during which he hit the victim in the head with a beer bottle, cutting open their head.
Ellis was reportedly continually disorderly while being taken into custody, and during his time at the station. He reportedly punched and broke a glass window in the holding cell, and peed on the floor. Police say Ellis was found to be intoxicated.
He was later charged with assault second degree, criminal trespass third degree, criminal mischief, and two counts of disorderly conduct. Ellis is now being held at the Sussex Correctional Institute on a $2,000 secured bond. He is reportedly scheduled for a preliminary hearing in the Court of Common Pleas for Thursday.
