Cambridge Police investigating armed ATM robbery

Police in Cambridge say they are investigation the armed robbery of a man, after a visit to the ATM.

Cambridge Police say on Wednesday around 9:30 PM Officers responded to reports of a robbery on Gay Street. Once on scene, Officers reportedly learned that a man had just taken money out of an ATM on the corner of High Street and Poplar Street, and was walking in the back parking lot of Poplar Street towards Gay Street, when he was approached from behind.

According to the report, the man was approached by a suspect wearing all black clothing, with a light colored bandanna covering his face, who was armed with a gun, pointed at the victim, and demanded money. The victim reportedly told Police that during the exchange, two more men came running up.

Police say the victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the three suspects, who then started walking the victim to his vehicle, before they got startled and fled towards High Street. The gun was reportedly described as a rifle style weapon, possibly a BB gun. Authorities don’t have much of a description of the suspects, only that they were all younger males, and in dark clothing.
