Cambridge man arrested on drug charges after police pursuit

A Cambridge man is behind bars, after Police say he was linked to illegal drug activities in the area.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office says on Monday, the Dorchester County Narcotics task Force arrested 31-year-old Cornell Jolley, after he was found to be participating in illegal activity in the area of Douglas Street in Cambridge.

According to the report, when members of the Task Force walked up to Jolley’s vehicle, he sped away, almost hitting an Officer. Police say a short chase took place, before Jolley was taken into custody on High Street.

During his arrest, Police say Jolley had 22 bags of crack cocaine-17.6 grams, 6 bags of marijuana-6.1 grams, and $1,137 in cash on him. He was then charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of crack cocaine, possession of marijuana, 2 counts of possession of CDS paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance and malicious destruction of property.

Jolley is now being held at the Dorchester County Detention Center, on a $200,000 bond.
