BAC test delayed in DSU homecoming crash

Gregory Ligon, 28, of Mitchelville, Md.

Authorities from the Dover Police Department have confirmed that Gregory Ligon, 28, was administered a Blood Alcohol Test more than two hours after he reportedly crashed his car into a tree, striking seven people.

Dover Police say they eventually took over the investigation from Delawaer State University Police, however Ligon’s BAC test was not administered until about 10:00 P.M. Saturday at the Dover Department.

The incident happened on Saturday night at a Delaware State University homecoming celebration. Ligon reportedly told police he attempted to park his car, and when he exited the vehicle, found it still in reverse. Police say when Ligon tried to stop the vehicle, he reportedly hit the gas rather than the brakes. Seven people were injured, one critically when she was pinned against a tree.

Ligon has since been released on $9,000.00 bond and awaits a hearing in November.
