Accomack officials say the worst is behind us

Virginia officials say the worst of the flooding in Accomack County is behind us.

47 ABC spoke with the county’s Department of Public Safety who say they experienced minimal flooding around 2 pm Sunday during high tide.

Overall, we’ve been told that Accomack County prepared for the worst, but in the end because Joaquin did not hit them this weekend things weren’t that bad.

Public safety officials said that there was no significant flooding Sunday, just minimal flooding in some low lying areas.
