18 students suspended from James M. Bennett High School

According to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office, eighteen students were suspended at James M. Bennett High School yesterday and five of them are facing juvenile offenses.
We’re told a student slapped another student in the face in the cafeteria. The student hit threw food at the other student sparking a disruption to ensue.
47 ABC spoke with a representative with Wicomico County Public Schools today. In statement released to 47 ABC they say, “The administration and staff of James M. Bennett High School worked in cooperation with school resource officers and Safe Schools personnel to maintain a safe environment in the school Wednesday, due to some activities that disrupted the learning environment.”
“We do not share details of student discipline due to federal privacy rules. However, any discipline of students takes place in accordance with the code of conduct to support a safe and orderly school environment. “
The school system did say the student’s violations included inciting others to disrupt, vaporizer pen violations, and threat of a student.
