Wesley women’s cross country picked to finish 6th in CAC poll
The Wesley College women’s cross country team was picked to finish sixth in the Capital Athletic Conference preseason poll by coaches from around the league. The team finished last season in sixth at the conference championship, their best finish since joining the CAC.
The Wolverines return six runners from last season, including two-time All-Conference honoree Dieunise Desir. Desir finished 16th overall in the 2014 CAC Championship. Also returning to the team this season are Danae Carter, Chiquita Deline, Quadira Minus, Elizsha Streeter and Mercedes Myrick.
The returning squad will be complemented by four new runners who hope to make an impact in their first year on the team. Wesley opens their season with a meet at the University of Delaware on Sept. 12. CAC Championships will be hosted by St. Mary’s (Md.) on Oct. 30.
