UPDATE: Two robberies under investigation

Delaware State Police say they are actively investigating two robberies in Sussex County.

The first robbery incident reportedly happened around 5:15 Friday morning, when a woman walked into a Dunkin’ Donuts in Long Neck and demanded money from the store clerk. According to police, the employee turned over an undisclosed amount of cash before the suspect fled through Bay Shore Plaza.

We’re told the second incident happened around 8:47 p.m. Friday at the Subway located at 19470 Coastal Highway. In this incident, the female suspect entered the business and confronted an employee behind the counter. According to police reports, an unknown make and model handgun was displayed before the suspect demanded the clerk to open the cash register. An undisclosed amount of money was reportedly taken before the suspect fled eastbound towards SR1.

The suspect in the second incident was described as a white female, between 5’04”-5’06” tall, and weighing 115-135 pounds. She was last reportedly seen wearing light blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black scarf around her face.

Sergeant Richard Bratz of the Delaware State Police tells 47 ABC it is not immediately clear whether these two crimes are related.
