Troopers investigate serious crash on Rt. 113

Troopers in Delaware are investigating a crash along Route 113 Thursday night that left one woman in seriously injured.

Investigators say the crash happened around 7:30 P.M., when the driver, who was operating a Kia Forte, was traveling south on Dupont Blvd (Rt. 113), when she veered off the road.

Troopers say the vehicle struck a tree before overturning.

Responding officers airlifted by Delaware State Police Aviation the woman from the scene to Christiana Medical Center, where she is listed in serious condition.

Troopers say they have not released the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.

The crash investigation is ongoing, and traffic was backed up for approximately 1.5 hours while the scene was cleared.
