Stephen Decatur Football Preview

The Stephen Decatur Seahawks are looking for a big bounce back season in 2015. Decatur is coming off a very disappointing 2-8 season, but looks reloaded and ready to go for the upcoming season.

The Seahawks will look to build off the returns that they bring on the defensive side of the ball, led by linebacker Ernest Shockley. He also will help sure up an offensive line that looks far biggest from a year ago. The team will also be aided by the return of a play maker on the outside by junior Tyree Henry who missed last season after breaking his foot.

Still, there are some questions that remain for head coach Bob Knox and his group. The team graduated Justin Meekins at quarterback after he finished his career with another great individual season. Now the team will look to junior  Darion McKenzie to take over the helm. McKenzie is a much different quarterback than Meekins was, while being just as athletic, he looks to be a more elusive runner, while Meekins was a more accurate quarterback in the pocket. Coach Knox believes he has the ability to get the job done, but needs to get the reps and the early season will determine a lot for where the team goes this year.

Stephen Decatur opens their season Friday when they host Bo Manor.
