Sept. 4 – Alzheimer’s Friendly Business

September is World Alzheimer’s Month – the perfect time to inform the community about a new program designed to help area businesses become more Alzheimer’s friendly.
It’s estimated that the number of people with Alzheimer’s will grow to a staggering 75.6 million by 2030, so most businesses that deal with the public likely will be serving people with the disease and their families. Given the statistics, businesses and families in our community will be interested in learning more about how local establishments can become an Alzheimer’s Friendly Business.
Sponsored by the Home Instead Senior Care office serving Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset counties, the Alzheimer’s Friendly Business program includes free, on-site training for local businesses to help employees understand the symptoms of the disease and the challenges it presents to customers and patrons with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
