Senators pulls thru late to scatch Wildcats

The Dover boys soccer team pulled out their first win of the season, going on the road to defeat Delmar 5-3 on Tuesday afternoon.
A back and forth affair, Delmar’s Jamel Allen kicked in his second goal of the game midway thru the first half to put Delmar up 2-1, a lead they would take thru the second half.
Early in the second half, Dover senior forward Jordan Hutchins would get taken down in the box. Hutchins would bury the penalty kick, to tie the game up at two. Dover’s Osama Ismail and Delmar’s Jordan Blewitt would trade scores to tie the game up at 3 halfway thru the second half.
Dover’s Chris Valenti would break the tie with a goal off a throw-in, putting Dover ahead with less than 16 minutes remaining. James Stock would put things away for the Senators, scoring on a rebound and pushing Dover’s lead to 5-3.
The Senators (1-1) travel to take on rival Polytech on Thursday, while Delmar travels to Indian River.
