Police: Two arrested for attempted murder

Police say two Dover men were arrested Saturday morning and charged with attempted murder after they apparently shot a man twice in one night.

22-year-old Alex Joseph and 19-year-old Johnson Joseph were arrested and charged for shooting a 20-year-old victim on Friday night.

According to Dover Police, they received a report of shots fired in The Hamlet community on Old Forge Drive around 9:30 p.m. When they arrived, police say they did not find a victim or evidence of any shots being fired.

Around 11:12 p.m., we’re told officers responded to Whatcoat Apartments for a shooting where they found a 20-year-old victim who was shot in the chest.

Police say they then learned the man suffered a graze wound to the leg in the earlier shooting at The Hamlet.

The suspects were arrested in the unit block of Freedom Drive. Police say they also found the gun they believe was used in the shooting.

Johnson Joseph faces charges of attempted first degree murder and conspiracy in the first degree.

Alex Joseph faces charges of attempted first degree murder, conspiracy in the first degree, possession of a firearm during commission of felony, second degree assault and first endangering in the first degree.

While the Dover Police Department has arrested two suspects,  we’re told the investigation is ongoing.
