Parkside Field Hockey Finds Late Rhythm In Win

The Parkside field hockey team defeated St. Michaels 3-0 Tuesday afternoon in their season opener. The win improves the Rams to 1-0, while the loss drops the Saints to 0-1.

The teams would struggle to find their offensive rhythm in the first half, with neither team being able to find the back of the cage. The Rams would apply constant pressure, but Juliana Burns was able to anchor her teams defense in goal, and preserve the scoreless tie headed into the break. The Rams found their rhythm in the second half though. Mallory Wainwright would break through first with a goal halfway through the second half. Shortly after that, Alyssa Venere would find Sarah Springer at the far post, and she would be able to put it in. Parkside would then put it away after Laurel Bradford would add the final goal of the game.
