Ocean City open to off-shore wind measures

Officials in the town of Ocean City have openly stated they are against off-shore drilling measures. Among other concerns, they claim it’s not a good source of renewable energy.
On Monday, we’re told talks of off-shore wind measures, like turbines, have been discussed in the past few years.
According to Terry McGean, an engineer with the town of Ocean City, a formal resolution has never been passed but they are open to the idea.
“That has a much lower impact potentially on our off shore environment.” Explains McGean. “In fact, the fishing community actually supports it because the structures that go out there without the accompanying potential spills and the noise that associated with the testing that we’re talking about now.”
We’re told the town is currently not actively pursuing off-shore wind measures, but some private companies have expressed interest.
