Ocean City lifeguards done for the season

Monday Sept. 28, the Ocean City Beach Patrol (OCBP) will pull their remaining lifeguard stands and put them away until next year.
Instead of having lifeguards in stands, OCBP will use mobile units on all-terrain vehicles to cover the beach.
“We’ll have different crews spread up and down the beach and they’ll be ready to respond on the quads. On the weekends we’ll actually have the quads out on the beach patrolling, they’ll have a driver and a rescue swimmer,” said Lt. Mike Stone.
The mobile unit will be on duty until Columbus Day.
