Miller’s Late Goal Lifts SU Field Hockey Past Messiah

The Salisbury University field hockey team earned a hard fought 1-0 win over Messiah Saturday afternoon. The win improves the Sea Gulls to 4-0 on the year.
Both teams would take their turns exchanging possession in the first half, with neither team being able to find the back of the cage thanks to some great defensive performance. Shelby Landes would record 10 saves for Falcons, while Tresse Windsor would only face one shot, and none on goal. Salisbury continued to attack in the second half, but routinely came up one connected pass short of a good shot. Finally, the Gulls would break through in the 63rd minute after Sam Johnson found Hannah Miller off a corner, and Miller would rifle home a shot from the top of the box. The defense would do the rest from there as SU would hold on for the win.
Salisbury University returns to action next Thursday when they play Virginia Wesleyan.
