Milford business hopes for new restaurants in downtown revitalization

Tuesday night, the city of Milford held their first public meeting to discuss the revitalization plans for downtown.

Mayor Bryan Shupe tells 47 ABC the meeting went very well and it was “refreshing” to hear what neighbors and business owners wanted to see in their community.

He says a major point discussed at the meeting was increasing foot traffic downtown by adding more restaurants and expanding their business district.

Kate Inie-Richards, the director of the Music School of Delaware Milford Branch says, “Restaurants are open late and as a music school that’s when a lot of our students come in for private lessons. After 4 o’clock they’ve come from school, that’s when they’re here in Milford. That would be really beneficial to us.”

Wednesday night at 6 p.m. there will be another public meeting to discuss ideas for downtown at Abbot’s Grill. The mayor says he expects to see more than one- hundred people in attendance.
