Medical marijuana license applications available

Members of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygeine’s Natalie M. LaPrade Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission announced they are seeking applications from applicants who wish to take part in the state’s dispensary project for medical marijuana.
The commission is seeking qualified applicants who wish to receive a license as a grower, processor or dispenser of medical marijuana within the state.
“We’re pleased to reach this important milestone in the development of a new industry that will create jobs, expand the tax base and, most importantly, enable the delivery of safe and effective medicine to patients in need,” Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission Executive Director Hannah Byron says.
About 15 growers will be chosen statewide– with up to two dispensaries permitted in each of the state’s senatorial districts.
Applications can be found on the committee’s website at http://mmcc.maryland.gov. The deadline is November 6, 2015.
