Mardela man indicted for murder of his uncle

A Mardela man has been indicted for the murder of his uncle.
According to online court documents, William Harcum was indicted on Monday on four charges, including first and second degree murder, and first and second degree assault.
Back in July, Maryland State Police say they responded to an urgent call on Snethen Church Road.
Police say the victim, Lee P. Harcum, 62, was found off the 10000 block of Snethen Church Road. He was apparently lying in a watermelon field down an alley way.
That afternoon, William Harcum III, 31, of Mardela, was taken into custody.
Authorities say the uncle and nephew were picking watermelons in the field, when an argument began between the two. Investigators believe William Harcum III used a blunt object to strike Lee Harcum in the head, killing him.
William Harcum is due in court in October for an initial appearance.
