Man charged in connection to sexual assault in Glen Burnie

Anne Arundel County police say a 52-year-old man has been charged with first-degree rape stemming from a sexual assault in Glen Burnie.

Police say Steven Joseph Proctor was taken into custody and charged Thursday.

Police say Proctor attacked a woman along Crain Highway in Glen Burnie in July of 2014. Police say Proctor approached a woman, brandished a weapon and raped her before fleeing the scene on a bicycle.

Police say Proctor could be linked to another sexual assault in the area that occurred in September.
