Kent County Wins Big Over Colonel Richardson

Colonel Richardson played host to Kent County on Friday night under the lights and what a game it was to get started. Both teams scored on their first two possessions of the game and made it an incredibly exciting and enticing game for the fans to watch.

Eric Joseph got things going early with the Colonels first possession of the game – as he took it in a touchdown to the house to help the Colonels take a 7-0 lead. With the very next possession, Kent County responded on just the third play with a quarterback sneak from Stevie Curran as he would take it over 40 yards to the house. The Trojans would also use the exact same play – a fake hand-off from Curran and he would run it in for the two point conversion as the Trojans take an early 8 – 7 lead over the Colonels.

With Colonel Richardson’s next possession, they continued to get things done again, but this time it was number Apollos Murrat who carried it in to the end zone for the 13 – 8 lead after a blocked PAT. However, it was no surprise that Kent County would respond with a touchdown of their own at the pace this game was moving at – Curran found Josh Frey on the left sideline and they would take another lead 16 – 13 after adding another two point conversion – running the same play with the fake hand-off with Curran leading the way.

Despite the tremendous start for both teams, it was the Trojans it ran away with this one after being able to put a stop on the Colonels as Kent County takes it – 72-41 the final.
