Gunshot reportedly fired during armed robbery in Melfa, suspect sought

Investigators are looking for information, after an Accomack County convenience store was reportedly robbed at gunpoint.

The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office says on Thursday, Deputies responded to the Shore Stop convenience store in Melfa, following reports of an armed robbery. Once on scene, Investigators say they found that a man in a camouflage jacket and jeans, walked into the store, and robbed the clerk, and a customer, at gunpoint.

During the incident, the suspect reportedly fired a gunshot inside of the store, but no one was hit. The Sheriff’s Office says the suspect later fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. They also apparently believe that there was a second suspect waiting outside of the business, during the incident.

Deputies don’t have much of a description, only that the suspect was between 5′ 6″ and 5′ 9″ tall, with a slender build. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Accomack County Sheriff’s Office at 757-787-1131 or 757-824-5666, or through their website.
