Dover moves to 2-0 with win over Sussex Central

Joy Adkins would notch two goals, the first of the game, and the last, to lead Dover to a convincing 4-0 win over Sussex Central.
Adkins got the scoring started in the first half with 17:11 remaining, when she rebounded a shot by Ananda Cann and put it in the back of the box. Reserve Jada Bogle would score her first goal of the season at the 5:20 mark in the first, and midfielder Mira Prisco would make it 3-0 with another goal less than two minutes before the half. Adkins would add her second of the game at 22:29 in the second to extend the lead to 4-0. With the 4-0 lead, Dover keeper Brooklyn Peete sat back and played dynamic defense, stopping a number of run-outs to preserve the shutout.
Dover (2-0) will host state power Cape Henlopen on Tuesday at 7:00 pm, while Sussex Central (1-1) travels to take on Route 9 rival Sussex Tech on Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
