Dover man facing burglary charges in Kent Co.

Dover Police say one man is now behind bars after a burglary of a Kent County home.

According to police, around 1:00 AM Wednesday morning, they were called to Willis Road. When officer’s arrived, residents said a man kicked on the door to their apartment between 12:00 AM and 12:30 AM. Once inside, the man apparently stole a sound bar and some cash. He also broke open a closet door and reportedly stole a laptop and a gaming console.

One of the victims told police, she saw a dark-colored jaguar in the parking lot with several people standing around it.

Around 45 minutes later, police say they responded to a report of a car accident near Forrest Avenue and Fairway Lakes Drive. Once on scene, officials say they saw the crash involved a dark green Jaguar.

Police say a man, later identified as Michael Walker, 21, of Dover, was removing a black shoe-box from the car. When Walker saw police he apparently fled on foot. He was eventually taken into custody.

Police say they found the video game console inside the shoe-box and the sound bar in the car. The laptop was also eventually located.

Walker is now facing theft and burglary charges and is being held on bond.

According to reports, Walker was also wanted by the Delaware State University Police on Robbery charges and had several bench warrants for failure to appear and violation of probation.
