Dover comes thru in OT to defeat Baltimore Poly

Dover football got their first taste of victory on Friday night, defeating Baltimore Polytechnic Institute 28-20 in overtime in front of their home crowd.
Dover would be down 8-7 at the half of their home opener, but responded quickly in the second half. QB Triston Harris found Karim Beatty up the sideline for 45 yards, taking the Senators down to the 5 yard line. A couple plays later, junior Jerry Warren scored from 2 yards out, giving Dover a 13-8 lead.
Dover would go up 20-8 midway thru the third quarter, but two Polytechnic scores would have the game tied at 20 late in the fourth and at the end of regulation. Dover would score the first touchdown (and 2pt conversion) of overtime, and hold Polytechnic out of the endzone for the win.
The Senators (1-1) will travel to Lake Forest (1-1) in a big time Henlopen North battle next Friday, game time is set for 7:30 pm.
