DelDot takes public input on Capital transportation plan; OTC

DelDot admits they were surprised to have a record 150 show up for their annual meeting in Georgetown this afternoon.
Although the meeting was to discuss and gather input about Delaware’s 6-year capital transportation plan, it was clear that the vast majority of the turnout was concerned residents, hoping to speak out against the proposed Overbrook Town Center project.
But one DelDot official tells 47 ABC that no matter what the concern is over how the development project might affect transportation, it’s out of their hands.
“For the most part, citizens are concerned about the Overbrook Town Center as a project, but of course, that project whether it goes or not, is not up to DelDot, it’s a county decision.”, Said Geoff Sundstrom of DelDot.
We’re told DelDot will analyze the comments and feedback from tonight’s meeting along others across the state before presenting the 6-year plan to the General Assembly.
