Deadline looming to weigh in on proposed Del. Psychiatric hospital

Delaware Health Resources group wants to know how you feel about the possibility of a psychiatric hospital in Georgetown, Del. according to officials from the organization.

The New Jersey based company Sun Behavioral Health proposed building a new 90-bed facility, but Delaware State Representative Ruth Briggs King is encouraging residents to sign up to share their written or verbal thoughts on the matter before the deadline by contacting the Delaware Health Care Commission before the close of business Tuesday.

The meeting is not until next Tuesday, Sept. 29th at the Del Tech Georgetown campus.

King stated that the need for in-patient mental health services is great in Sussex County,  but encourages the public to share their concerns  or support on the matter.
