Coverdale’s game winner lifts Wesley

Adrian Coverdale scored the game-winning goal on a header in the 94th minute to give Wesley a 2-1 overtime win over Washington College at the newly named Drass Field at Scott D. Miller Stadium on Wednesday night.

After a scoreless first half, both teams began to heat up in the second and get more shots rolling. The Shoremen would strike first, Drew Thompson followed up on Chris Lewandowski’s saved shot, putting Washington ahead at the 64th minute.

Wesley would tie things up in the 84th minute, freshman Danny Garza placed a dime ahead of Will Mileski, and Mileski finished past Washington keeper Johnathan Wendeborn. Coverdale would lift Wesley in overtime off a header from a Kyle Jackson free kick.

The Wolverines improved to 2-5-1 and host Mary Washington on Saturday, September 26th.
