County: Man shot by Maryland officers unarmed but aggressive

(AP) – Baltimore County police say a man fatally shot by an officer was unarmed but aggressive and didn’t follow commands to stop.

Police say the man was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon just outside Baltimore, during a confrontation at a pharmacy where he’d tried to obtain narcotic cough syrup with a forged prescription.

Police said Thursday that video footage from nearby businesses shows the man aggressively approaching an officer before reaching around his back, then abruptly swinging his arm forward – at which point the officer fired. Police declined to release the footage Thursday.

Police say that the man was shot three times and that no weapon was found at the scene.

Police say they will release the man’s identity once his family has been notified. The races of the man and officer haven’t been released.
