Colonel Richardson Notches First Win In A Heroic Fashion
The Crisfield Crabbers took off with an undefeated 3-0 start before they took the field in Federalsburg to take on Colonel Richardson, who hadn’t won a game so far this season.
The first half was a battle between the Colonels and Crabbers, but Colonel Richardson left the half with a 2-1 lead making Crisfield have to play catch-up in the second half. The Crabbers came out ready to go in the second half of play, and dominated all aspects of the field. Johnny Taylor contributed up top and put a lot of pressure on the Colonel’s back line. Eventually, Crisfield got a much-needed and a well-deserving goal from Ozzie Zetina to make it a tie game, 2-2.
However, the game would not end in a tie – Eric Haro – who left the second half with cramping – helped close this one out in a heroic fashion with the game-winning goal coming from a perfect shot just outside of the 18 yard box. The Colonels stormed the field and that would do it as Colonel gets their first win of the season in their home-opener 3-2 the final in OT.
