Cambridge man arrested after reported police pursuit

A Cambridge man has been charged, after he reportedly led law enforcement on a chase.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office says on Sunday, Deputies arrested 32-year-old James Demby III, on charges stemming from a police chase. According to the report, Demby led Cambridge Police, and then Dorchester Sheriff’s Deputies, on a chase that eventually ended at Route 50 and Bonnie Brook Road, near Cambridge.

He was charged with numerous motor vehicle offenses, along with resisting arrest, hindering a police officer, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine, distribution of cocaine, possession of paraphernalia and he was also issued a civil citation for possession of under 10 grams of marijuana.

Demby was later ordered to be held on a $125,000 bond.
