Bennett Soccer Coast Past Washington

The James M. Bennett boys soccer team rolled to a 8-1 win. The win improves the Clippers to 1-0 on the year, while the loss drops the Jaguars to 1-1. Washington would grab the early lead after Jordan Sterling would be taken down in the box, drawing a penalty kick for the Jags. Brian Thronton would find the back of the net to give Washington the early lead, but it would be all Bennett from there. Ross Foraker would score off a soft touch just by the goalie to tie the match up, and shortly after that Brandon Ashley would finish off a rebound around the net to give the Clippers the lead. Cermy Oneus would then score on a break away to give Bennett a 3-1 lead at the break, and they continued to pour it on in the second half. Bennett returns to action Tuesday when they travel to play at Snow Hill, while Washington returns to the field Tuesday when they host Wicomico High School.
