Bennett Field Hockey Tops Decatur For First Win

The James M. Bennett field hockey team defeated Stephen Decatur 3-0 Wednesday afternoon for their first win of the season. The win improves the Clippers to 1-2, while the loss drops the Seahawks to 0-3.

The teams would battle for the first 15 minutes before Bennett finally broke through. Kara Holland would send a pass to the far post to Juliana Sterling, and she would fire it home to give the home team the lead. Then just before half, Sterling would take a shot that would be saved by Seahawks keeper Sophia Clemente, but the rebound would come out to Ally Simon, and she would fire it home to give the Clippers a 2-0 lead at the break. Bennett would go right back to work to open up the second half as a mad scramble in front of the goal would bring the ball to Sterling, who would put in the final goal of the game.

Bennett returns to work Friday when they travel to Easton, while Stephen Decatur host Holly Grove on Friday.
