Bay Bridge traffic expected for Sunfest

Officials are warning of extra traffic on the Bay Bridge this weekend, as Sunfest is in Ocean City. Maryland Transportation Authority says with the festival happening, they’re expecting extra volume on the roadways from Thursday through Sunday.
The MDTA says they will be monitoring traffic conditions throughout the weekend and, as long as the weather permits, they will implement two-way operations. This means that one lane of eastbound traffic travels on the westbound span, to help alleviate potential eastbound delays.
The MDTA’s advice for avoiding the stop and go is to travel off-peak; Thursday before noon and after 10 PM, Friday before 10 AM and after 10 PM, Saturday before 7 AM and after 5 PM, and Sunday before 10 AM and after 10 PM.
