Assateague Island National Seashore to waive fees for weekend

A local national park is celebrating their birthday, by waiving park entrance fees.

Assateague Island National Seashore in Maryland, says from Saturday through Monday, there not be an entrance fee to the park, in honor of their 50th birthday. There will be special programs throughout the weekend.

On September 21, 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson established the National Seashore.

The Seashore will be throwing a celebration beach party on the south end of the north ocean beach lot. For more on the celebratory events, check out the full list, here.
