AAA Pope Travel Tips

Thousands will be flocking to city of brotherly love to see Pope Francis this weekend.

With Security surrounding the Pope’s visit is at an all time high, closed roads and suspended public transportation travel officials are asking the public to plan, prepare and most importantly be patient.

AAA officials say due to large amount of crowds, they recommend wearing comfortable shoes, clear backpacks for faster security checks and in case of rain bring a poncho.

Also be alert and follow instructions of law enforcement and minimize access to wallets and electronic devices by keeping them in your front pocket while in crowds or riding on trains.

And for people waiting until the last minute to travel to Philadelphia AAA Official Jim Lardear says the key to this visit is to plan ahead

“For the last minute you’re going to need to do your homework,” says Lardear “If you’re trying to drive up or catching a bus you better figure out where you’re parking your vehicle and what bus opportunity may be available to you from your community to your local church.”

AAA asks if you go don’t bring selfie sticks, laser pointers or umbrellas.
