A year later family still recovering from DUI accident

Last year a tragic drunk driving accident took the life of a local woman, her boyfriend and her 12-year-old granddaughter as they were on their way home from a family reunion.
Now almost a year and week to the date of Diann Jones death, 47 ABC caught up with the family at their annual family reunion to see how they continue to cope.
The family says they went to the site of the accident on August 30 of this year,to lay down flowers and pray.
This weekend as the family gathers for their first family reunion without Jones, they say things are slowly getting better.
“As the days go along it’s still… You know you never fully recover from what happened, but we’re making by the grace of god,” said Jones’ brother, Alfonso Wilson.
The family said that although this years family reunion brings back some painful memories, it also provides an opportunity for the family to come together, love one another and continue to heal.
