Website for White Marlin Open attacked multiple times

In Ocean City, the annual white marlin open is underway.

While anglers are busy out on the water, it appears White Marlin Open officials are working closely with the FBI cyber crimes unit to catch and prosecute the individual or group responsible for hacking the event’s website.

As of right now, event officials have confirmed that the site whitemarlinopen.com has been the victim of a cyber multiple times. We’re told it has been attacked at least twice over the last three days, but the website is currently up and running.

We’re told boat registrations and added entry data were never effected by the attack.

In post yesterday on their Facebook page, officials say the website may have been attacked by a disgruntled former employee with skills in internet sabotage. We reached out for further information about this, but officials wouldn’t comment on the post.
