Watermelon eating contest at the Sharptown Carnival

The Sharptown Fire Department has been funding and hosting the Sharptown Carnival for the past eighty-nine years. The carnival goes on 21 nights, from July 30th through August 22nd and all proceeds benefit the volunteer fire service.

And what’s a carnival without an eating contest? 47 ABC’s Michelle Mackonochie was asked to participate in a watermelon eating contest. She didn’t win, she tells us she thinks she came in last place. But the good news is she had a good time.
