UPDATE: Two cited following dump truck and tractor trailer collision in Dover

An early morning crash in Dover, shut down Route 1 near the Air Force Base, for about six hours on Thursday.
Delaware State Police say, the crash happened just before 5 AM on Thursday, on Route 1 southbound near Exit 93, the main gate of Dover Air Force Base.
According to their report, a dump truck full of stone, driven by 42-year-old William Underwood, of Maryland, hit the back of a tractor trailer that was illegally parked under an overpass, on the right shoulder. Police say Underwood was momentarily distracted inside the truck. The collision reportedly caused the tractor trailer into the grass, and the dump truck to overturn onto the driver’s side, spilling stones into the southbound lanes.
Underwood was reportedly taken from the scene by EMS, to Kent General Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and released. Police say he was cited for inattentive driving.
The driver of the tractor trailer, Abdulaziz Adjintettey, 33 of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was apparently in the sleeper section of the truck during the impact, and was uninjured. He was reportedly cited for parking in a no stopping, standing, or parking zone.
Southbound traffic on Route 1 closed near Exit 93 for about six hours while the crash was investigated, and cleared, and the debris was removed from the travel lanes. Police say DNREC also responded to help clean up a diesel fuel spill from the dump truck.
