UPDATE: SUV crash hospitalizes three kids, one adult in Wicomico Co.

Officials are investigating an SUV crash in Wicomico County, that hospitalized three children, and an adult on Monday afternoon.

According to Maryland State Police, around 1:10 PM, a 1999 Toyota Land Cruiser was driving on Route 50 at Bel Air Drive, near Wright’s Market, when it went off road, hit an embankment causing it to become airborne, and hit a tree. The vehicle landed on its roof.

Police say their investigation shows that the driver, 50-year-old Christopher Schott, suddenly got chest pains, causing him to loose control of the SUV.

We’re told the Schott, and three children ages 9, 7, and 16-months, were all transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, but the 9 and 7-year-old boys were later airlifted to Johns Hopkins Hospital. No word yet on the extent of any of the injuries.
