UPDATE: Fruitland caretaker indicted on murder charges

A Fruitland woman has been indicted in connection to the alleged homicide of a woman she was taking care of.

According to online court documents, 44-year-old Becky Long was indicted Monday in Wicomico County Circuit Court on 14 charges which include 2nd degree murder, manslaughter, and 1st degree assault for the death of 68-year-old Mary Ellen Bonniwell.

On July 16th, Fruitland Police responded to the 200-block of Morris Street regarding a death investigation. According to reports, Bonniwell was found slumped over on a portable toilet, deceased. She had scratch marks on her neck, bruises, and a broken hyoid bone.

A trial date has not yet been set.
