Three arrested on drug charges during traffic stop in Pittsville

Three Delaware residents were arrested in Wicomico County on Thursday, after a traffic stop reportedly led to a drug seizure.
The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says just before 6:40 PM, a Deputy pulled over a Chevrolet pick-up truck, which was towing a trailer carrying a motorcycle, for speeding on Gumboro Road in Pittsville.
During the stop, the Deputy reportedly found that the driver, 29-year-old Jerome Hicks, of Dagsboro, had had his license revoked in Delaware. The Deputy also apparently noticed a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle, prompting a search.
According to the report, during that search, marijuana was found, along with 13 individually wrapped baggies of heroin. Investigators say they also found that the trailer had been reported as stolen, back in July, from Montgomery County. The Sheriff’s Office says the amount of heroin triggered the arrest of Hicks, and both passengers in the vehicle.
Leontya Adkins, 33, of Seaford, and Travis Irving, 27, of Selbyville, along with Hicks, were charged with possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of heroin, and theft. Each were ordered to be held at the Wicomico County Detention Center on bond.
