Suspect in custody after reported stabbing in Salisbury

An apparent argument led to one man being stabbed, and now, police say the suspect is in custody.
Salisbury Police say on Sunday night, Jay Gates Sr., 42, of Salisbury, was arguing with another man on E. Vine Street when the altercation turned physical. According to reports, Gates stabbed the victim in the torso with a kitchen knife and fled the scene.
Gates was eventually taken into custody early Monday morning. He is charged with first degree attempted murder, and first and second degree assault, among other charges.
The victim was apparently treated at PRMC for non-life threatening injuries.
