Stolen W. Va. puppy reportedly recovered in Ocean City

A puppy that was reportedly stolen in West Virginia, has been found in Ocean City.
The Ocean City Police Department Animal Control Unit says they were contacted by an animal shelter in Jefferson County, West Virginia, and said that a woman had stolen the dog, Foxie, from a foster home in WV that was caring for it, temporarily. They reportedly have information that the suspect was headed to Ocean City, with the puppy.
Police say the investigated, and with help from Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, found where the woman was staying with the dog in Ocean Pines. Animal Control Officers went to the house, where they apparently deemed the home and the suspect unsuitable for a pet and took the dog into their custody.
The suspect is reportedly facing theft charges in West Virginia. OCPD says a local family who heard about the story is working with West Virginia animal shelter to adopt Foxie.
