Polytech Panthers Football Preview

The Polytech Panthers are back to work, hoping that 2015 is the breakout season they have been working for. The team has several reasons to believe this could be their year too. The squad is under the direction of first year head coach Stanley Burris, who joins Polytech after being an assistant at Smyrna last season.

The team graduates a couple key players in Gabe Brown and Tim Butler, but return several other players that should have some huge seasons. The team will lean heavily this season on the services of 3rd year starting quarterback Jason Rigby. The team will have to find an identity in the backfield, as well as pick up their defense as the year goes on. One thing head coach Burris has pushed though is for the team to be strong up front and expects his line to have a strong year. The Panthers open their season September 11th when they travel to play at Appoquinimink.
