Police: County’s horse-patrol officers help save man’s life

(AP) – Authorities say two horse-patrol officers of the New Castle County Police Department helped save a man’s life after he reportedly collapsed in his driveway.

Officer First Class Tracey Duffy says Cpl. Erich Selhorst and Officer First Class Gregory Bruno were patrolling on their horses in an area near New Castle on Monday when they heard someone scream for help.
    
Duffy says the scream came from a newspaper salesman who had seen the 60-year-old man passed out in his driveway.
    
Authorities say the officers performed CPR and other life-saving measures until paramedics arrived. Duffy says the man was transported to Christiana hospital, where he was admitted to intensive care.
    
Duffy says no additional information about his condition was available.
