One taken to PRMC, one charged after crash in Fruitland

Police in Fruitland say one person has been taken to the hospital from a crash on S. Fruitland Boulevard.

According to authorities on the scene, a silver Ford SUV tried to pull out to cross the street, and ended up colliding with a white four door Chevrolet Impala heading southbound on Fruitland Blvd. It reportedly happened at the intersection of the South Fruitland Boulevard and South Division Street.

Fruitland Police say the SUV was at fault, and the driver was charged for driving without a license.

The driver also apparently confessed at the scene, to being charged in the past for driving without a license.

A woman was taken from the scene to Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Police say she had no visible injuries, but seemed “shaken up.”

One lane of the roadway was closed during the investigation, but has since re-opened.
