One charged after four reportedly assaulted in Easton bar parking lot

Deondre T. Williams, 31, of Easton, MD

An Easton man is facing assault charges, after he apparently assaulted several people in a bar parking lot earlier in August.

Easton Police say on Friday, they arrested 31-year-old Deondre Williams, in connection to an incident that happened on August 8. According to the report, around 2:00 AM on that Saturday, Officers responded to the Sidetracked Saloon, for reports of a fight, and found a man who had an open wound on the back of his head, and a man that had a cut above his eye, along with two other victims.

Police say during their investigation, they learned that the four victims had gone to the Sidetracked Saloon, where one of the women in the group was hugged by an unidentified man. This gesture apparently lead to a confrontation between that woman’s husband, and the unidentified man. Police say the four then decided to leave, but were followed to their car by several people.

While in the parking lot, the four were apparently surrounded by between 12 and 15 people, during which Williams is accused of kicking one in the stomach, knocking him to the ground, along with hitting the other three. The victim’s car was also reportedly damaged in the assault. One of the victims was taken to Easton Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

After his arrest on Friday, Williams was charged with seven counts of assault 2nd degree, and malicious destruction of property. He was ordered to be held at the Talbot County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.

Police say their investigation into the incident is on-going, and are asking anyone with information to contact the Easton Police Department at 410-822-1111.
